I hope that your first days of 2024 have been filled with health, happiness, and light. I'm beginning the year with hope for the 12 months that lie ahead.

Latest from Lantsman - January 12, 2024

I hope that your first days of 2024 have been filled with health, happiness, and light. I'm beginning the year with hope for the 12 months that lie ahead.

2024 will be a crucial year for our movement. We will continue building on the successes of 2023, with the help of our committed supporters such as yourself. We know that an election is always right around the corner, and with some luck and a lot of hard work, we'll have a new Prime Minister by the end of the year.

I know that 2024 will be another year of difficulty for many Canadians as Justin Trudeau continues his relentless taxing, spending, and division. We know groceries, gas, home heating, housing, and many more things will get even more unaffordable.

Conservatives will continue to show up in Parliament and make the Liberals answer for their failures, bringing the voices of struggling Canadians to the House of Commons. We will continue to stand against recklessness and lawlessness - whether it's from out-of-touch Liberal politicians in Ottawa or radical protestors in the streets.

Whatever our challenges, I know that Canada's better days still lie ahead. I'm looking forward to doing everything I can do to defend our way of life and make sure that we get back the nation we once knew - a nation we can all be proud of.

Yours,

Melissa Lantsman
Member of Parliament for Thornhill

I hear from many of you every week via email, text, phone calls, and more. I'm incredibly grateful for the advice and ideas you provide.

With 2024 beginning, I want to take the opportunity to ask for your opinion. Are there things we can be doing differently? What issues will be important for you this year? What's on your mind?

It's Lawlessness

The demonstrations in our streets show a fundamental disrespect for the rule of law, for human dignity, and for the equality of all Canadians. Many of these protests are not peaceful protests and target innocent civilians and private businesses.

The lawlessness in our streets is being emboldened by politicians who refuse to enforce the rules or take a stand against anarchy.

I will never stop calling them out. Justin Trudeau and Olivia Chow are making this crisis worse.

Here's the rest of my take with Ben Mulroney on AM640.

And another outrage: while synagogues and community centres are being targeted by hate crimes, the Liberals are leaving them vulnerable.

That's right - the Minister of Public Safety is denying vital security funding to these institutions, putting lives at risk.

See my letter below. I hope he actually responds to this one, and takes the action we know is desperately needed.

The Return of "Sunny Ways"?

When Justin Trudeau talked about 'sunny ways' 8 long years ago, who knew he was actually just thinking about his next beach vacation?

Last month, he jetted off to Jamaica once again to stay at a luxury resort owned by a donor to the Trudeau Foundation.

If this sounds familiar - it's because it is. He did the exact same thing last year.

Can you say: out of touch?

What's Happening

Honoured to join the Association of Families of Flight PS752 Victims on the 4 year anniversary of the horrific mass murder. We grieve with you and will continue to support you.

Four years and still the victims' families are waiting for justice. It’s past time for the Liberals to ban the IRGC terrorists from operating on our soil. For good.

Happy, Healthy New Year and Merry Orthodox Christmas! Honoured to celebrate faith, family and freedom with so many friends and bring greetings on behalf of Canada’s next Prime Minister, Pierre Poilievre.

I also celebrated Orthodox Christmas with the Coptic Community at the Church of the Virgin Mary and Saint Athanasius in Mississauga.

Christmas reminds us of what matters most family, faith and those in need —and gives us hope for better days ahead. I know that brighter days are coming with a Conservative government

I visited to the Ohel, the resting place of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, with two inspiring leaders and good friends from Thornhill - Rabbi and Rebbetzin Kaplan of Flamingo.

Over the 14 months I’ve studied the the teachings of the Rebbe daily with Rabbi Kaplan and developed a deep respect, gratitude and an understanding that a little light expels a lot of darkness. So with a little help from my friends - I sought some additional reinforcements of inspiration, blessing and guidance.

As we approach 100 days, we must remain focused on the brave souls in captivity overseas - held by Hamas terrorists. Bring them home. Havdallah and a vigil will continue every single week until they are home. Thank you to my friend Lisa and everyone who organizes this every week.

Meet Isaac and Gregory— the guys behind Peeqglasses Right in Thornhill.

Peeq patented the world's first ever reversible sunglasses. They spent years researching and developing the first reversible sunglasses with a group of engineers who have innovated the utility of having flippable sunglasses with totally different designs on each side.

One of their many cool ventures - we talked about the need to keep innovators doing business in Canada and how we’ll make sure we build a climate for them to succeed.

Kosta came by the office with some swag he designed and made— so Pierre Poilievre and the CPC team are ready to keep fighting for you in Ottawa. We’re going to AXE THE TAX and BRING IT HOME!
