The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer, but the list of things we need to fix just keeps growing.

The weather is getting warmer and the days are getting longer, but the list of things we need to fix just keeps growing.

Over the last couple of weeks, I spent some time at home meeting with constituents and worked my way across the GTA to spend time with different organizations and industry leaders, hearing ideas on how to fix the mess the Liberals made.

I also welcomed some of our neighbours to Ottawa and continued my work to stand up to incompetence in House of Commons.

On the Hill, we're getting ready for the final stretch of the parliamentary sitting before a busy summer in our community — with new questions about the cover up of Beijing's election interference, the failed Liberal budget, and the government's continued incompetence.

I want to hear from you - what do you want to hear from our Conservative team in the next session? Let me know at [email protected]

As always, have a look below and see what I've been up to over the last two weeks.

Yours,

Melissa Lantsman

Working Hard in Ottawa

The Finance Minister finally showed up to work - but she won't even answer questions about your money that she's spending. Shameful.

Honoured to speak at a panel of our very own Conservative women in politics. We know that we can rise to the top while supporting each other. Was great to see so many smart, principled and driven women in our movement - soon we're going to have to rent out a gym to fit everyone. Thanks to Alyssa and Deanna for making this happen on the hill.

It was an honour to speak at CALU, the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting. I talked about the story of my parents coming to Canada for the opportunities this country used to be known for, and how we can get them back again.

I think CALU should stick around in Ottawa a while - there's a certain government I know of that could use some financial advice.

I welcomed the Philippine Heritage Band to Parliament Hill, who came to Ottawa to see the tulips and the House of Commons. Always a treat welcoming so many from the community in Thornhill.

While inflation continues to rise, the Liberal budget is driving every Canadian household into $4200 of more debt. Liberal broken promises are directly driving up the cost of living for every single person in this country. Canadians can't take this anymore - it's time to get out of the way and let us bring back fiscal responsibility to Parliament.

It was great to meet with As-Sadiq school, visiting Ottawa from Thornhill. I gave a little history lesson and got a look to the future of Parliament. Thanks for your excellent questions!

Working Hard in Thornhill

Thank you to everyone who joined us at our community discussion on antisemitism with B’nai Brith. Special thanks to Michael Mostyn for his wisdom and guidance and, of course, Rabbi Kadoch for welcoming us to the Kehila Centre. Together we are working towards building safer communities and tackling the rising antisemitism with your input, activism, and commitment.

I spent a wonderful evening celebrating the magic and beauty of Bulgaria, the community, and the arts.

Thank you for sharing your heritage and your commitment to faith, family, and freedom.

Our community business leaders' breakfast is an opportunity to get first-hand what Ottawa continues to ignore.

These are the job creators and economic growth engines of our country, and things need to change for them to be able to be succeed.

Thanks to Howard Kurlandski and Barbara Orvitz for their leadership in bringing us together, and thanks to La Briut for hosting us!

Best part of the job. So happy to have joined St. Joseph the Worker Catholic School for their Rep Day and spend some time with the students. Shared a little bit about the role of an MP and love for Thornhill with bright young people who had some tough questions. Thanks for having me!

Working Hard Across Canada

The world needs to fight the bullies in Beijing and stand up for Taiwan, today and every day, until they are at the World Health Assembly. We should never stay silent for another democracy.

Walk with Israel 🇮🇱 🇨🇦 🔥🔥🔥

The Liberals have created a housing crisis in Canada - Conservatives will be the ones to fix it.

Thanks to the experts, stakeholders, and industry leaders who came out today to offer their thoughts on how we can bring homes that people can actually afford.

The CPTPP is good for Canada, and it’s good for Taiwan. It is time that Canada adopted an increasingly vocal approach to Taiwan that better reflects the current reality - to strengthen our ties. I joined the Taiwanese Merchant Association and Chambers today to discuss how Canada can step up its trade relationship with Taiwan by supporting its bid into the trade pact.

It was great to join the Ontario Chamber of Commerce today for a roundtable discussion with members from Ontario’s business community. Important feedback on red tape, regulations and economic growth from some of Canada’s biggest job creators. Time for a much needed change in Ottawa.

Lantsman in the News

I joined the Canadian Jewish News to talk about the NDP's anti-Israel motion at the House Foreign Affairs Committee - listen below:
