Shana tova!

If you're celebrating, wishing you a good and sweet new year and all the best in 5784.

Last week, Team Thornhill and I travelled to Quebec City, where we took part in the Conservative Party National Convention. We enjoyed the festivities, the opportunities to contribute to CPC policy, and of course, the great speeches. More on that below.

Of course, things were also busy right here in Thornhill with the long weekend and the return of school. I am inspired every day by the people that I get to meet right here in our community.

Along the way, there was also a surprise in the National Post....take a look below to see what it was.

Looking to the future: Parliament resumes for its fall sitting this Monday. I'm eagerly anticipating my return to Ottawa to continue our work to stand up for all Canadians.

Follow along on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and more for the latest updates alongside everything that's happening.

I can't wait to see what the next two weeks bring. I'll be sure to tell you all about it.

Yours,

Melissa Lantsman

MY ROSH HASHANAH GREETINGS

Report from the Convention

Team Thornhill was out in full force in Quebec City!

I am extremely grateful to all our committed delegates who made the trek all the way from the GTA.

We were well represented on the national stage.

Here are some more highlights:

We participated in debates to form the CPC's platform for the upcoming election.

I'm proud of the actions we took to reinforce our commitment to restoring common sense, ending waste and corruption, and building more homes.

Our team of Parliament Hill colleagues was out in full force...

And colleagues-to-be - looking forward to having this guy join me in Ottawa very soon.

I met passionate and committed delegates from all across Canada.

And, of course, the big moment - Pierre Poilievre's speech to a packed room of supporters and delegates.

All in all - a fun, productive weekend made even better by the company of close friends and strong allies.

Our team is more united than ever under Pierre Poilievre's leadership.

Let's bring it home!

I'm honoured to be chosen as one of the National Post's "12 to watch on Canada's rapidly rising right".

I will never stop working hard to stand up for you and make Pierre Poilievre our next Prime Minister.

Working Hard in Thornhill

Thank you to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office for inviting me and Anna Roberts for a breakfast meeting.

It was an honour to meet with legislators from Taiwan and discuss our shared commitments to freedom and democracy and how we can grow our relationship, economic ties and commitment to peace and security.

I joined the End Jew Hatred Conference, where the resounding message of Stronger Together reconfirmed our commitment to fighting against hate together.

I will always be the strongest voice in Parliament standing up against antisemitism.

I honoured Mahsa Amini at a beautiful event with members of the Iranian community.

As the anniversary of her tragic death approaches, we must never forget her. We must continue to fight for women, life, and freedom, wherever they may be threatened.

Finished off the weekend with the Thornhill Woods Shul BBQ - enjoyed the conversations with many neighbours and friends.

Want to know the question I got most? "When is the next election?"

Don't worry, we're working on it. 😉
